Recently, I had the pleasure of being a part of a styled collaboration and it was absolutely phenomenal! For those that don’t know, styled collaborations are a group of vendors that come together to produce a unique mock wedding. You may also see styled collaborations for other events, such as bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties and more. It gives us vendors the opportunity to showcase our talents and express our creativity in a new way. They’re pretty labor intensive, but absolutely worth it!
I was beyond thrilled when Mark Kelly from Mark Kelly Photography reached out to me about participating in a styled collaboration. Mark and I had done a wedding together back in 2017 and he had been an absolute gentleman. It was a no-brainer for me to jump on the styled collaboration wagon to see what we could come up with.
The styled collaboration turned out to be a very fun shoot. I was able to build new vendor relationships, create unique designs, and check out an awesome venue. This opportunity allowed me to come up with different bouquet color palettes that I otherwise may have hesitated to try. It also gave Mark the chance to experiment with his new tricks.
During the shoot Mark also brought along an assistant – Trista. It’s definitely eye-opening to see the exact same models, same bouquet and same setting that produce different “art” of photography.
We tried to hold out a little longer but us folks at Design Quintessentials couldn’t wait any longer. Take a moment to peruse the unique captures we got at our recent styled collaboration. We also ask that you tell us what you think! Are these designs a yay or nay? What would you like to see more of? Also, don’t forget to check out the Metro Detroit vendors that participated below.

Ching & I first worked together on one of our clients’ weddings & she did an incredible job! From her communication to her absolutely stunning florals! Afterwards she reached out to me to do a styled shoot together! She worked on getting fabulous new local wedding vendors to our venue, The Roostertail. Organizing a styled shoot takes more than most people realize but she handled everything in a professional and friendly manner! Since then I have personally reached out to her paper invitation company for two different projects!"
