Facts & Fun

How to hold a bouquet?

We all want our wedding bouquets to look stunning on our special day, but we also want to make sure that it looks amazing in all of our keepsake photos. You might think that all you need for these great photos are professionally designed flowers in your color scheme. However, there are some tricks that you should know to ensure that the photos are as stunning as your flowers.

Tips for Great Wedding Bouquet Flowers

Increasingly, many photographers use close-ups of wedding bouquets as a go-to shot. Getting a great photo of these bouquets, however, is surprisingly tricky. Fortunately, if you follow the two tips below, you are more likely to get a superb shot.

Tips 1: Know Where to Hold Your Bouquet

Many brides make the mistake of holding their wedding bouquets up too high. This can make a bride look stiff, anxious, and overly posed in their photos. And these are all things that you want to avoid! To stop this from happening, use your belly button as an informal guide. The bouquet should be held roughly in front of your belly button and should usually be centered on your body for the best possible shot.

Tip #2: It’s All About The Angle

Once you have mastered the height of your bouquet, there is one more thing for you to think about. This is the angle of the bouquet. Tilt the bouquet slightly towards the camera to get the best possible picture. Make sure, though, that the angle is subtle and natural.

Practice Makes Perfect for Wedding Photos

A great photographer alone is not enough to guarantee great wedding photos. Instead, you need to think about how you want to look and practice some poses before the actual day of the wedding. The team here at Design Quintessentials is definitely visual. We learn from what we see. If you are a visual learner like us, make sure to check out our video on Instagram that shows you how to pose with your bouquet. Ching & I first worked together on one of our clients’ weddings & she did an incredible job! From her communication to her absolutely stunning florals! Afterwards she reached out to me to do a styled shoot together! She worked on getting fabulous new local wedding vendors to our venue, The Roostertail. Organizing a styled shoot takes more than most people realize but she handled everything in a professional and friendly manner! Since then I have personally reached out to her paper invitation company for two different projects!"

"Thank you Ching for all your hard work when working together!
